ETS President Becomes Catholic

It looks as though the president of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS), Frank Beckwith, has become a Roman Catholic. Our prayers are with him and his family at this time, which will involve the difficult conflicts converts often face. Of course, as the head of a major academic non-Catholic Christian organization, he will face an especially bitter backlash from certain people--though certainly not all. His example is clearly one of courage, intellectual integrity and spiritual sincerity.

Your Catholic family welcomes you Dr. Beckwith. We are truly blessed by your decision.

Where did you get this information?

It's hitting the blogosphere pretty hard. Jimmy Akin's on it, and he links to a protestant who's not to happy about it also.

It's true...

See Jimmy Akin's blog and Kacy Sandige's:

Is there some doubt about this? Why the "looks like"?

Scot,

I heard this first from an extremely reliable source. Since then I have read an eye-witness account of the liturgy in which he came in to the Church here.

Dr. Beckwith has been making comments on some blogs confirming this. See comments from reformed Catholicism blog last night.
The backlash is simply amazing as I watch the posts coming out by the hour!
Let's keep him in prayer this weekend.
