It's a Wondeful World

Little Michael Jr. in his crib, watching his newly installed mobile for the first time. This speaks far more eloquently about Divine Beauty than anything I could ever write. Thanks be to God!

"Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it" (Luke 18:15-17).

It is possible that God says every morning, 'Do it again,' to the sun; and every evening, 'Do it again' to the moon ... It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we." - G.K. Chesterton, via UP

Not only will he be amazed and be at peace he will also grow up to be a L. A. Dodgers fan.

And since he lives in San Diego and is the first born son of two theologians, maybe he'll be a Padre of the ecclesiastical sort.

But why is he tied up?

Thanks for all the comments.

UP--Great Chesterton quote.

Josh--It was great seeing you this weekend! What a great family you have!

Wieland--As per your question, he's "swaddled". Babies feel more secure when their limbs are not flailing about. They get startled and they can't sleep. I didn't know that until we took the baby classes at the hospital but apparently most babies like being swaddled. Michael Jr. won't sleep unless he's swaddled up tight.

Clifford--You're right, he's going to be a Dodger fan, if only by fatherly edict!

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him up in swaddling clothes ..." Lk 2:7

Very cool, Michael - CONGRATULATIONS! Listen, Therese Mary Grace is 6 mo. 2 wks now. I know she's a bit older than Junior, but I think we can still set up a pre-arranged marriage.

By the time he becomes of age he will be replacing Matt Kemp in center field.
