Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist: #1 in Catholic Books on Amazon!

I don't know how long this will last (probably not long!), but as of today, Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist, which was released two days ago, is ranked at #1 in three bestsellers lists!:

#1 in Books on Catholicism
#1 in Books on Judaism
#1 in Books on Ritual

I am a happy man.

To top it all off, on the Catholicism list and Ritual list, I'm shoulder to shoulder with my two favorite Catholic authors: Pope Benedict XVI and Scott Hahn.

Thanks again to everybody who helped with this project, especially the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, who gave me a generous grant to begin the research some five years ago.

Ad majorem dei gloriam!

Congratulations, Dr. Pitre. I have heard several of your talks, in person and on CD. I've read the first 5 chapters of your book and have found it to be beautiful and illuminating. Thank you!

I am also most finished listening to the Lighthouse Catholic CD of the month, in which you talk about this book. It is wonderful! I was talking about it tonight during my class on the "Meaning of the Mass." Congratulations! I look forward to seeing at St. Vincent's again this year.

Hurray! Congratulations! I just finished your book today and am about to post my review on Amazon right now. This is a book that I will pick up again and again for prayerful reflection and meditation. Thank you for this wonderful work!

Dr. Pitre,

Thanks to amazon's wonderfully quick shipping, I got the book and read it on Valentine's Day. I thought it was great. I'm eager to read more of your future work. The comments and reviews are starting to pile up on amazon. Some are quite interesting, if not challenging. It would be great it you could post a blog responding to some of the more critical ones, like Hoffmann. Thanks again and God bless your work!

Dr. Pitre,

I'm really enjoying your book... thanks for writing it!

I'm very curious to hear your reaction to the Holy Father's thoughts on the problem of the dating of the Last Supper, particularly his conclusion, in which he essentially agrees with J.P. Meier that the Last Supper was *not* a Passover meal, at least in Old Covenant terms.

I know that this is hardly a unique theory, but I must say that I'm still surprised that it's one which Ratzinger/Benedict concurs with.

As noted, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.
