Finally, a Bible for hipsters

This is hilarious. Go here to read Michael Bird's explanation of the parody.

There's nothing wrong with nice product design. Just because modern Christianity has thrown that to the wayside (look at our Churches) doesn't mean people who attempt to make something really beautiful out of the most beautiful, deserve to be made fun of.

While their translation selection may be questionable, at least they're attempting to reach people in a more personal way, not a clinical one.

The two 'reader's bibles' that this guy recommends, look like crap, the cover of the second one is hilarious, and the typography and paper choice on the first are that of any other bible (you can tell from the transparency).

I mean, it's clear there isn't a recognition of what makes a good design or art based on modern Christian architecture, music, and films. Print design doesn't seem much different.

P.S. This website design is garbage. A good design could make all of the great work you do, more accessible. Think about that in the same terms as this, maybe it would make some sense.

I want one so that I can burn it. Did you see how the book spoke back to him and told him to vote liberal? We as Christians should be taking further action against any book that can speak to people and tell them to vote for hillary clinton.

This was sooooo funny. Thanks for the chuckles! They do a lot of good.

Excuse you, but who says you can't be both liberal and Christian? Hillary Clinton was not a bad person.

Maria said...

Oh rubbish. The only way to solve today's problems is to get conservatives back in congress and the white house.

So true.

Frank McCain said...

@ solongfairwell42 and Maria who thinks conservatism solves all today's problems: I would like to know why you both think conservatism solves all today's problems? The world was involved in a long bloody war that even Pope John Paul II condemned because of a conservative in office. You can't just look at an individual like Hillary Clinton, and say burn anything that supports her like Francis said. I don't necessarily support all of hillaries stances. I tend toward support of Catholicism on moral issues. But at the same time, you can't look at her because of a few things and say "Oh look, a bad person." If anything, conservatives are causing the deaths of thousands of our solders because of their stances for war.

Christians have a moral obligation to stand up for whats right. Liberalism is largely rooted in progressiveism. The liberal movement aims for the culture to "do whatever feels right" and to "go with the flow," much of which leads to disaster. Regarding your other statement, you're right. It doesn't. Moreso if you use that statement related to the republican party instead of conservatism. I was being slightly sarcastic. The video was funny. I apologize if I offended you.

@ Maria: I would agree that we need to get republicans back in office. However not even republicans can solve all of today's problems. This country is divided. Prayer is a bigger factor.

Hmm, I guess I can see that as well now that it's mentioned. Politics are not my forte. I'll never be a politician. Long live Regan!

And that's perfectly okay solongfairwell4256. There is more happiness on an interior level not being in politics. Regan would be proud. God bless.

Francis do you spell your last name Malden or Melden? I only ask because I once visited a city that was called Malden. A very peaceful city.

Dewey said...

I apologize. I just liked the former name that was being used before you came along and changed it up. I liked Malden. Its a very nice name.

Francis Malcom Malden said...

Dewey, thanks for your question. I apologize for the confusion. It was a mispelling. Its Malden. And yes it is a city. Its where my ancestors were from.

I know Im just giving you a hard time. But even you have to admit this conversation is confusing. We should try and limit our characters to just one or future posting purposes. Who do you want to be? Francis, Malcom, Dewey, Maria, or Kurt from 42-56. Im thinking Kurt. Hes is to the point and harbors no ill will. If we choose any of us three, we will just ramble on and on and on and on. I dont like to talk very long. In fact, I cant stand talking over people. You have to let people finish there sentences. Its really rude to just ramble sensibly. Did you know that there are theories that Dinosaurs actually were never destroyed by asteroids but actually died in the flood?
