Themes in John and the Apocalypse

Many concepts peculiar to the Fourth Gospel are also found in the Apocalypse.
_ Jesus as the Word (Jn 1:1, 14; Rev 19:13)
_ Jesus as the Lamb (Jn 1:29, 36; Rev 5:6, 8, 12, etc)
_ Christian worship as something done “in the Spirit” (Jn 4:23; Rev 1:10)
_ Salvation as the gift of “living water” (Jn 4:13; Rev 21:6)
_ Jesus as the giver of true manna (Jn 6:48-50; Rev 2:17)
_ The mother of the Messiah as the mother of all believers (Jn 19:26-27; Rev 12:17)
_ The Bride and the Bridegroom (Jn 3:29; Rev 19:7, 21:2, 9)
_ The call to love not our lives unto death (Jn 12:25; Rev 12:11)
_ Satan being “cast out” (Jn 12:31; Rev 12:9)
_ The mother of Jesus referred to as “woman” (Jn 2:4; Rev 12:1, 5)
_ Jesus as the true Temple (Jn 2:21; Rev 21:22)
_ Christ as Shepherd (Jn 10:1ff; Rev 7:17)[1]

Excellent post. I almost wrote my dissertation on the relationship between the FG and the Apocalypse.
