Away @ the IABS Conference

I know I haven't blogged at all this week... I apologize. I am currently in Steubenville for the Institute of Applied Biblical Studies Conference. I've been here for several days already.

So many amazing scholars are gathered for this event--it's hard to articulate how exciting it is to be here. Basically, the speaker line up consists of Fellows of the Saint Paul Center. The theme of the conference is "The Unshakeable Kingdom" (cf. Hebrews 12). I'll have more to say about this later.

Blogging will resume on Saturday. Talk to you all then!

Michael, I've tagged you a "one book meme."

I am glad you were at the conferences. I only did a half day for the conference on Friday afternoon. Were you able to listen in on Dr. Healy's presentation on Friday? I was concerned on the applications of Scripture that she applied to her talk. Although I agreed with her underlying presentation (i.e. that the Church is not misongynist), I felt that she swung very badly to the other end of the spectrum. An example I was upset with was that there only remained 3 women beneath the Cross and the young John. She failed to remark on the fact that women and children were not threatening to the Romans like the men would have been. I found this imbalance in other remarks.
Can you comment on this?
